The character classification in Gothic II is a little bit different from that of part one. Even though the player assigns his character to a class like in the prequel, the decision whether he is able to learn magic or not is made through the guild-choice. The choice of the guild furthermore decides on career and the player's friends. If he joins the militia of Khorinis, for example, he has the rank of a militiaman at first. If the character has gathered enough experience points and achieved the favor of influential people, he may become a knight and even a paladin at the end of the game. |
