[Editing] Velaya - Tale of a Warrior: English release 15.12.2009 um 22:44 Now, roughly two years after the German version, an English translation for the modification Velaya - Tale of a Warrior is available. It features an entirely new story about Velaya, a young woman who sets out for adventures in Khorinis, shortly after the nameless hero and his companions left for Irdorath. Some of you may already know the heroine of this game from Gothic 1, where she played a small, and not exactly heroic role in Gomez' private chamber. Now, after the barrier was destroyed and after a successful escape from the Valley of Mines, Velaya works on Onar's farm as a maid... but does not intend to stick to this job for long. Of course, everything is better than the past in the Old Camp, but being pushed around and harassed by mercenaries is not the paradise on earth either. An ugly incident with the creepy mercenary Dar is the final straw: Velaya decides to run her own life as an adventurer! The story is divided into four chapters, which can be expected to offer about forty hours of gameplay, all in all. [Editing] Gothic II „Community Patch” v1.0a released by Ironkeep Studios 02.07.2009 um 21:07 The modteam from Ironkeep Studios has released a follow-up for the patch v1.0 that was released last May. In the latest patch some new bug-fixes are included, and interestingly, a new optional Alternative Balancing System has been added. The Alternative Balance is intended for those who want to try Gothic II again, but desire some more flavor to the gameplay. If you're a Gothic II fan and itching for a new game experience with the same game, you might want to give it a shot. Please note that the patch will only work with Gothic II + NOTR. If versions older than 2.6 are installed, this patch automatically brings them up to that version. It fixes some bugs, which are present even with the latest official patch. Additionally some balance tweaking is included in the patch. It is planned to release more patches when more bugs are fixed. [Off Topic] Addon in Spain 10.01.2006 um 15:19 Because the Spanish Gothic II didn't had any release date until now we asked the publisher for an information about this. Jowood said that the game will probably be released around the turn of the year and since there is still no Spanish version of the addon we went to another publisher. Now we received an answer from the Spanish Publisher Nobilis Iberica : "We will launch Gothic 2 addon during the first quarter 2006" So it should be available during the next months. [Off Topic] GameShark Gothic Gold review 04.01.2006 um 15:16 There is a new English review which deals with Gothic 2 Gold. The author rated it only with a "C+". He mentioned the known defiances like the slow progress of character development and the difficult interface. Also he lists that it is not possible to use hotkeys for potions so that it isn't easy to heal you during a combat, that you can't equip powerfull items at the beginning and he complains that there are too many dialogues. "After giving the game a run, I can genuinely say it had potential to be something great, but with a few major design flaws it fails to be anything more than mediocre." [Add-On] Addon information for Spanish Fans 01.12.2005 um 20:41 World of Gothic contacted different companies to figure out the release of the Spanish addon. The result is that Nobilis Iberica is still working on publishing and the aim is to make it available around the turn of the year. We got the information that Nobilis Iberica wants to re-release Gothic I Spanish as budget product too. We wish our Spanish users that they will get the addon as soon as possible.
