World of Gothic

Gothic is based on runemagic, i.e. you need one rune for every spell. Every rune belongs to a circle and the mage can only work with runes that are equal to or beneath his circle. Also there are two special kinds of spells, permanent spells and rechargeable spells.

You can invest as much mana as you want into permanent spells, so you can do a lot of damage to your enemy.
As the name implies, rechargeable spells can be charged with additional mana to improve the effect of the spell.
